Eyes

Eye development in children is exciting. At birth, your baby can see. He especially enjoys looking at faced. He cannot make out fine details or distinguish subtle colors yet (shading or pastels), but he can see contrasts (black and white, red). When 4 months old, she uses both her eyes for better depth peception. By 1 year, her eyes are developed visually.

As with most medical problems, if there is a problem with eye development, the earlier it is detected, the better the chance for a good outcome. Therefore, it is important to have regular eye examinations in infancy and childhood.
